Dr. 科迪R. 梅尔彻 joined the faculty of Loyola University 新奥尔良 in 2022 after receiving his Ph.D. in sociology from the City University of New York. His research focuses primarily on the intersection of 种族和阶级 in American public opinion and political behavior. His work has been published in 公众舆论 Quarterly, 政治行为, Ethnic and Racial Studies, American Politics Research (APR), 重要的社会学, 劳动: Studies in Working Class 历史, the Oxford Research Encyclopedia of American 历史, Dialectical Anthropology，以及其他地方.

Dr. 梅尔彻 was the recipient of the 2023 Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching.

Dr. 梅尔彻’s teaching interests include quantitative methods, 对资本主义的研究, 城市政治, 种族和阶级, 社会政策, 还有劳动史. He has also taught in the departments of political science and sociology at Wayne State University and the City College of New York.

Dr. 梅尔彻 is also a research associate at the Workplace Justice Project (WJP), housed in the Stuart H. 史密斯律师诊所 & Center for Social Justice, Loyola University 法学院.

Dr. 梅尔彻 also teaches courses to incarcerated students at the Rayburn Correctional Center in Angie, Louisiana as part of the Loyola at Rayburn (Lo-Ray) prison education program.
